    • Versions: Available in 3‑cabin/2‑head or 4‑cabin/2‑head layouts.

    • Spacious Living: Generous saloon and cabin volumes, comparable to larger yachts.

    • Owner’s Cabin: Features a 2m x 2m (6½’ x 6½’) bed.

    • Bathrooms: Equipped with separate showers.

    • Atmosphere: Bright, lively interiors with Cedar & White Touch finishes, plus three customizable design options.

    The Excess 13 represents the second generation of the brand — a catamaran that takes the spirit of exalted, free, and daring sailing to the next level. Designed for pleasure on the water, life aboard, and harmony with the marine environment, it balances performance with comfort in a way that defines the Excess range.
     

    Design Philosophy & Architecture

    • Core Concept: A true cruising catamaran, built for ocean passages and memorable journeys.

    • Design Team: Naval architecture by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group, interiors by Piaton Yacht Design, continuing the DNA established by VPLP and Patrick le Quément.

    • Philosophy: Guided by “Less is more” — maximizing functionality and comfort while reducing material use and environmental impact.

    • Goal: A catamaran that is balanced, reliable, and full of sailing sensations, without compromising interior volume.
       

    Sailing Performance & Handling

    • Asymmetrical Hulls: Finer below the waterline for smooth gliding and excellent performance, while preserving living space.

    • Light & Responsive: Structural innovations reduce weight, creating a sturdier, more agile boat with heightened sailing sensations.

    • Direct Helm: Twin helm stations provide a close connection to the sea, while a forward‑facing chart table keeps navigation precise and intuitive.

    • Sail Plan: Square‑top mainsail (71 m² / 764 sq ft) + overlapping genoa (42 m² / 452 sq ft) = 113 m² (1,216 sq ft) upwind sail area. The Pulse Line option boosts this to 122 m² (1,313 sq ft).

    The Excess 14 is promoted as the purest expression of the brand’s spirit — a catamaran that is fun, playful, and uncompromising. It blends high‑performance aspirations with comfort and an innovative layout, delivering both sailing sensations and the lifestyle expected of a modern cruising yacht.
     

    Architectural & Sailing Performance

    • Design Philosophy: Born from dedicated design work and bold industrial execution, the Excess 14 embraces “out of the box” solutions.

    • Ocean Racing Influence: Developed in collaboration with VPLP Design, its lines draw inspiration from ocean racing.

    • Optimized Hydrodynamics: Asymmetrical hulls reduce drag, while increased bridgedeck clearance and a lower center of gravity ensure smooth passage and stability.

    • Rig & Sail Plan: Forward‑set rig, square‑top mainsail (83 m² / 893 sq ft), and overlapping genoa (40 m² / 430 sq ft) maximize sail area to displacement ratio.

    • Construction: Built with foam sandwich and carbon reinforcements for strength and lightness.
